STEEL BARS

Carbon steel types include low, medium and high carbon content steels whose chemical composition is defined in broad ranges. Low-carbon steel has 0.30% or less carbon; medium-carbon steel has 0.30%-0.60%, and high-carbon steel has 0.60%-1.00% carbon content.

Steel 1020

CHARACTERISTICS

Steel with higher strength and lower deformity than 1016. Used in conditions where surface hardening is required, but center strength is not critical.

APPLICATIONS

Large section shafts that do not suffer from high stresses. Other applications: hardened pins and chains and automotive wheel rims, and cathode and anode bars.
